General questions
Does it cost anything to use a mortgage broker?
Your first consultation is free and there is no obligation. Before we go ahead, we explain how we are paid, including any lender commissions, in our Credit Guide.
How much can I borrow?
It depends on your income, expenses, existing debts and the lender. Use our repayment calculator for a rough idea, then book a free assessment for a proper figure.
Can you help if I am self-employed?
Yes. We compare lenders that work with self-employed borrowers and help you prepare the documents they usually ask for.
Do I need to visit your office?
No. We help clients all over Australia by phone and video. You are also welcome to meet us in person at our Williams Landing office.
What documents will I need?
Usually ID, proof of income such as payslips or tax returns, recent bank statements and details of any debts. We give you an exact checklist for your loan.
Which lenders do you work with?

Will talking to a broker affect my credit score?
An initial conversation does not involve a credit check. A credit enquiry is only made when you choose to apply with a lender, and we will tell you before that happens.
Home Loans
How much deposit do I need to buy a home?
Many lenders look for a 20% deposit to avoid lenders mortgage insurance, but some loans accept less, and government schemes may help eligible first home buyers. We will explain the options for your situation.
How long does home loan pre-approval take?
It depends on the lender and how quickly documents are provided. Once we have your paperwork, we will give you a realistic timeframe for the lenders we recommend.
Should I refinance my home loan?
Refinancing can make sense if a different loan better suits your needs, but there can be costs involved. We compare the numbers with you before you decide.
Business Loans
What do lenders look at for a business loan?
Usually your trading history, financial statements or BAS, cash flow, existing debts and any security offered. We help you prepare what the lender needs.
Can I get a business loan without property security?
Some lenders offer unsecured business loans to eligible businesses. Limits and pricing differ from secured loans, and we will compare them with you.
Can a new business get a loan?
Options are narrower for new businesses, but some lenders do consider them. Talk to us about your situation.
Car Loans
Can I get a car loan for a private sale?
Yes. Many lenders finance private sales. There may be extra checks on the vehicle, which we will walk you through.
How quickly can I get approved?
Some car loans can be approved quickly once documents are in. We will give you an honest timeframe for your application.
Is a secured car loan cheaper?
Loans secured against the car often have lower rates than unsecured personal loans, but it depends on the car and the lender.
Asset Finance
What can I finance with asset finance?
Most business assets, including vehicles, trucks, machinery, equipment and technology. The lender will assess the asset and your business.
Is asset finance tax deductible?
Tax treatment depends on the finance type and your circumstances. Please speak with your accountant; we work alongside them.
Can I finance used equipment?
Yes, many lenders finance used equipment, subject to the age and condition of the asset.
